The Associations Between Sources of Vaccine News and the Intention to Change Adherence to COVID-19 Preventive Health Measures

Background: Although the scientific literature has extensively discussed impact of media on people’s health-related behaviors, there is little evidence effect different sources COVID-19 vaccine news changing intention to adhere health protocols. Therefore, present study was conducted investigate and association each these with adherence preventive measures (ICA-COVID-19-PHM). Methods: This cross-sectional 1000 public population (67.4% female 32.6% male) Mazandaran province (age range: 18 60 years). The data were collected between January April 2021 by completing an unidentified online “Google form” questionnaire via social platforms, such as Telegram, WhatsApp, Soroush, ETA, Instagram. two-level linear regression analysis used examine ICA-COVID-19-PHM (social personal aspects). Results: most common receiving mass (radio television 54%) virtual networks 49%. results showed for source workgroups positive (B=1.36; 95% CI, 0.31%, 2.41%; P=0.01) (B=-0.83; -1.62%, -0.05%; P=0.04) satellites foreign agencies (B=-1.50; -2.64%, -0.36%; negative. While, not significant (P>0.05) other sources, groups friends neighbors, newspapers magazines, radio television, websites. Conclusion: management in epidemics important because they have associations measures. Policymakers should consider distribution ICA-COVID-19-PHM.
